Delopt for AI assistants (MCP)
Delopt plans the dispatch for food and local delivery: which driver takes which order, the stop sequence for each driver, an ETA for every stop, and when each driver should leave. This page explains how to connect Delopt to an AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), such as Claude.
Connect
The server is a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP:
https://api.delopt.transopt.io/mcp
In Claude: open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL, and sign in when asked. Other MCP clients work the same way: add the URL as a remote server and complete the sign-in.
Sign-in: the first time you connect you are sent to the Delopt sign-in page. You can create a free account with an email address or with Google. Clients that cannot use a browser sign-in can send a Delopt API key in an x-api-key header instead.
Try it without an account: a keyless demo with smaller limits is available at https://api.delopt.transopt.io/mcp/demo.
What you can ask
- “I have these 6 orders and 2 drivers. Who should take what, and when should each driver leave?”
- “A new order just came in. Replan the pending orders.”
- “Driver 2 is out until 12:40. Who should take the next order?”
- “Is this address precise enough to dispatch to?”
Delopt is built for live dispatch: orders keep arriving through a shift and drivers do many runs, so ask for a new plan whenever an order arrives or a driver returns. Nothing is stored between calls, so always send the current picture.
Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
plan_deliveries | Plans all pending orders for your drivers: assignment, stop sequence, ETAs and each driver’s departure time. Read-only. |
plan_vehicle_departure | For one driver leaving now with a set of orders: the best visiting sequence and the ETA for each stop. Read-only. |
geocode_address | Looks up coordinates for a street address and says whether the match is precise enough to plan with. Read-only. |
get_account_status | Shows your plan, its limits, the address lookups left today and any free trial. Read-only. |
request_more_vehicles | Asks the Delopt team for a plan with more vehicles than the largest self-serve plan. They reply by email. |
Orders and the depot can be given as a street address (with number and town) or as latitude and longitude. Planning never places orders or contacts your customers. Delopt returns a plan and your assistant tells you what it is.
The server also provides a getting-started guide, a plan-limits guide and a sample order set as MCP resources (delopt://guide/getting-started, delopt://guide/limits, delopt://guide/sample-orders), and two prompts for dispatching pending orders and sequencing a driver’s departure.
Plans and limits
| Plan | Vehicles per plan | Requests per minute |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 2 | 5 |
| Basic | 3 | 30 |
| Advanced | 5 | 60 |
| Pro | 8 | 120 |
Free accounts can look up up to 200 addresses a day. Coordinates you provide yourself do not count. Paid plans have a free trial and lift these limits; see the pricing section. For more than 8 vehicles, ask your assistant to use request_more_vehicles or write to support@transopt.io.
Data and privacy
Delopt receives the addresses, coordinates, times and vehicle identifiers you send in order to compute a plan. Addresses are resolved with Google’s geocoding service. See the privacy policy and the terms.
